Thryroid Problems and Coeliac Disease

 

About a year ago, I met by e-mail a cousin, I didn't know I had. She was fathered by my uncle in a bigamous marriage in the 1940s. She has Hashimoto's thyroid.

Now by reading family history, I'm certain that my father and paternal grandfather both had serious medical problems that could have been coeliac. Both died a lot younger than they should.

So is there a connection between coeliac disease and thyroid problems.
