Gluten Free Chinese Restaurant

On coming out of London up the A1 on Thursday went to the Good Earth, which is a Chinese restaurant just before the A41 splits from the A1 at Edgware.

Very good and I was assured that they use potato starch instead of flour. We certainly had a very good meal and I had no reaction at all. They also do what seems to be the increasing common thing of wrapping crispy lamb in lettuce rather than pancakes.

They also certainly knew very much about the importance of a strict gluten-free diet.

Nurofen

I had a reaction to something which causes a bad itchy rash on my wrists and eyes. It was very much an allergic type reaction but I had no idea what caused it.

Except that I took a couple of Nurofen and another couple a few days later. Could these have caused the reaction? They didn’t affect my gut at all.

I then asked Crookes whether this can be a side effect and I got a reply saying that they’d reply within 7 to 10 days. Glad it isn’t life threatening.

Pizza Hut Revisited

Pizza Hut really do take the biscuit!

On the original diary I said they didn't have any nutritional information.

As of February 2005, they still don't have any! Despite an all new website.

Under their FAQ they have the following :-

"13: Why is there no email address to send my comments?

A long time ago we did used to have an email facility for all your comments. However this service was abused and affected the overall service quality. We believe that we offer a better quality service to our customers who contact us by phone or by letter."

Very very bad! Just hide rather than use decent technology.

I know one restaurant chain, where I won't be eating in the future. In fact I doubt ever!
